Vehicle body controller (English: body control module, BCM, also known as Body Computer, refers to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) used in automotive engineering to control the electrical systems of the vehicle body. It is an important component of automobiles.
The common functions of the vehicle body controller include controlling power windows, power rearview mirrors, air conditioning, headlights, turn signals, anti-theft locking system, central locking, defrosting device, etc. The vehicle body controller can be connected to other onboard ECUs through a bus.
The important task of the vehicle body controller is to simplify operation, reduce manual operation by passengers, and avoid distracting their attention. The car body control system includes car safety, comfort control, and information communication system, mainly used to enhance the safety, comfort, and convenience of the car.
1) Enhance car safety: airbags, seat belts, central anti-theft door locks;
2) Enhance car comfort: adaptive air conditioning, seat control;
3) Enhance car convenience: automatic windows, electric door locks, electric rearview mirrors, electric roof (sunroof), and power management systems that meet the needs of various electrical devices. There are also comprehensive display systems, driver information systems, navigation systems, computer network systems, status monitoring and fault diagnosis systems used for connecting with the outside of the vehicle and coordinating the functions of electronic control units in various parts of the vehicle, linking a large number of computers, sensors and traffic management service systems together.
